Main aim of the project is to provide the opportunity to organizations and experts from Poland, to gain experience and knowledge regarding good practices which are implemented in Cyprus, focusing on youth from vulnerable groups of the society.
COMCY has been collaborating with various NGOs and public organizations, whose experts deal directly with youth coming from vulnerable groups of the society. Such experts are: educators, teachers, career guidance counsellors, social workers, trainers/coaches, psychologists, sociologists, University students coming from relevant sectors of studies, volunteers, and others.
The main competencies in which the above experts acquire after participating in the seminars and study visits of COMCY are the usage of new practices and methods in regards to their improvement of the communication and behaviour skills towards the youngsters (one-on-one or team groups). In addition, the experts are equipped with valuable and updated materials/tools/methods on how to perform their intervention and educative sessions with the target groups.
It is also important to note that the PREVENTION factor is also a vital benefit after such trainings; how to be able to ‘’recognize’’, ‘’evaluate’’ and ‘’assess’’ the background and predispositions of the youngster, from the early stages so as to guide him/her efficiently and effectively and avoid unpleasant situations in the future (such as engaging into gang environments, criminal activities leading to imprisonment, extreme difficulties in engaging into the labor market etc).
The trainings offer are highly interactive and involve the sharing of experiences and opinions among the participants at all times, case studies and group works, educative games, study visits etc.
During the implementation of the regarding initiative, COMCY has delivered training to more than 100 experts coming from the above categories, from Poland.
The project is co-funded by the EU and the Ministry of Development of Poland.
